摘要:China’ s natural gas consumption has nearly doubled over the past five years. To better meet demand, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China’ s largest oil and natural gas producer and supplier, partnered with researchers from the University of California, Berkeley and Tsinghua University (Beijing) to apply innovative operations research to develop and implement new software that helps CNPC improve management of their gas pipeline network. Previously, all pipeline production and construction planning for CNPC, which controls 72 percent of the country’s natural gas resources and 70 percent of its pipeline network, was conducted by traditional methods using spreadsheets. However, the network’s increasing size and complexity caused the traditional method to permit excess costs and wasted resources. Since implementation at the end of 2014, the new software containing the three-stage convex relaxation method and iterative piecewise linear approximation methods enabled CNPC to realize approximately $530 million in profits. Moreover the resulting increased efficiency of the existing pipeline network made possible postponing the need for new pipelines, leading to an official budget reduction of over $20 billion in construction cost for the next five years.
簡介:清華大學工業(yè)工程系副教授。2013年于美國加州大學伯克利分校獲得工業(yè)工程與運籌博士學位,2008年于清華大學工業(yè)工程系獲得學士學位。任中國運籌學會隨機服務與運作管理分會青年理事(2014年—至今)和中國運籌學會隨機服務與運作管理分會青年理事(2014年—至今)。研究領域包括天然氣管道運輸優(yōu)化和傳統(tǒng)的供應鏈管理。獲得中國運籌學會隨機服務與運作管理分會優(yōu)秀青年學者獎(2017)和北京市運籌學學會2016年青年優(yōu)秀論文獎。負責執(zhí)行的中石油天然氣管網優(yōu)化項目入圍INFORMS設立的管理科學應用界最高獎項弗蘭茨·厄德曼獎 (Franz Edelman Award)2018年決賽。主持國家自然科學基金的優(yōu)秀青年基金項目,參與完成國家重點自然科學基金1項。主持海軍軍隊項目2項。目前研究成果已于Operations Research、Manufacturing & Service Operations Management以及Interfaces等國際學術期刊上獲得發(fā)表。
